Bonn International School

Bonn International School was founded in 1997 by joining three former embassy/government schools into a new, independent international school. From its inception, BIS has been a three-programme IB school, the first in Germany to have all three programmes authorized. At the end of the 2010-11 school year, BIS had almost 650 students in preK through grade 12.  It has over 60 nationalities, with many students coming from institutions like the UN, DHL/Deutsche Post, Ford Europe, Deutsche Telekom, and many of the research institutes based in the Bonn-Cologne region. In 2011, the school will begin its €11 million expansion project which will enable the school to grow to almost 800 students.
